Teams are expected to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled game times. ⏳🏀
Be aware of all game rules and conduct policies. King of the Court & Kings Basketball NY rules will be strictly enforced. 🚨
🏆 MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of King of the Court & Kings Basketball NY is to provide young basketball athletes with the opportunity to:

✅ Pursue collegiate and professional opportunities 🚀
Anyone causing a disruption to the athletes' ability to compete and showcase their skills—or behaving inappropriately—will be removed from all event venues for the duration of the event. 🚫
❌ ZERO TOLERANCE FOR DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR
👥 Who’s affected?
- Players, fans, spectators, parents, or family members who exhibit disruptive behavior will be immediately removed and banned from all competition venues. 🚷
- Anyone entering the playing surface at any time—unless waved onto the court by medical personnel—will face removal. 🏥
🔴 Consequences:
- Event organizers may disqualify a team if an associated individual engages in disruptive behavior. ❌
- Teams are responsible for ensuring all participants and supporters understand these rules. 📜
- No refunds will be provided to anyone ejected from the event. 💸
👔 COACHES' EXPECTATIONS
- All coaches must conduct themselves professionally. 🎓
- Slippers or sandals are NOT allowed on the sidelines during games. 🚫👡
- Coaches must wear a collared shirt or team-branded apparel while coaching. 👕
🚫 ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON VIOLENCE
🚨 Strict No-Fighting Policy:
- Any act of violence or fighting results in:
- 🔹 Immediate ejection from the game 🚷
- 🔹 Suspension from the next game ❌
- 🔹 Possible tournament disqualification at the discretion of organizers 🚨
🚔 Additional Consequences:
- Ejected individuals must leave the venue immediately and may be remanded to law enforcement if necessary. 🔴
- Any permanently banned player/team personnel will not be allowed to participate in any future King of the Court events. 🚫🏀
- A single act of violence may result in the immediate dismissal of an entire team from further competition. 🚷
📜 GAME RULES & FORMAT
King of the Court games follow NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) rules, with specific adjustments listed below. Full NFHS rules can be found at NFHS.org.
🏀 GENERAL RULES:
1️⃣ Teams must arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled games. Games may start up to 10 minutes early if the schedule allows. ⏳
2️⃣ Team check-in occurs at the site of each team’s first game. Players and coaches must receive event credentials before starting play. 🏷️
3️⃣ The first team listed on the schedule is the home team and should wear a white or light-colored uniform. ⚪
4️⃣ Pool Play games: 16-minute running time halves ⏱️Stopped time last 2 minutes of second half and overtimes.
5️⃣ Championship Round games: 14-minute stop time halves 🏆
6️⃣ No shot clock 🚫⏳
7️⃣ Warm-up period: 4 minutes 🔥
8️⃣ Halftime: 2 minutes ⏲️
9️⃣ Each team receives two (2) full timeouts per game and one (1) 20-second timeout per half. ⏳💨
🔟 Bonus free throws (1-and-1) awarded on the 10th team foul of each half. 🎯
1️⃣1️⃣ A player is disqualified after six (6) personal fouls. 🚷
1️⃣2️⃣ All overtime periods are 2 minutes, beginning with a jump ball. 🏀
1️⃣3️⃣ One (1) additional full timeout is granted per overtime period. 🕰️
🔥 ADDITIONAL POLICIES:
1️⃣4️⃣ Each team must provide its own scorekeeper for the official book. King of the Court personnel will operate the game clock. 📖⏳
1️⃣5️⃣ Warm-up basketballs are the responsibility of each team. 🏀
1️⃣6️⃣ If a team builds a 30-point lead, the game will switch to running time (clock stops only for timeouts) until the lead is cut to 20 points or less or the game ends. 🚀⏳
1️⃣7️⃣ Jewelry is prohibited during games. Taping over jewelry is not allowed—all jewelry must be removed. 💍🚫
1️⃣8️⃣ On-site medical personnel will not provide pre-game preventative care (e.g., ankle taping). Teams must bring their own supplies. 🩹
1️⃣9️⃣ All teams must compete in all scheduled games. Any team forfeiting a game for failing to appear will be charged an additional full registration fee and may be banned from future events. 🚫💸
2️⃣0️⃣ Any team wishing to file a protest must submit a signed, written protest to a director, along with a $100 protest fee. If upheld, the fee will be refunded. 📝💰
📝 AGE ELIGIBILITY
All teams must have proper age eligibility documentation (e.g., birth certificates, AAU cards, prep school admission letters). King of the Court adheres strictly to USA Basketball’s grade and age eligibility requirements. 📜🏀
